A Note from Mrs. Marshallsea

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that this is my sixth year here at OCE.

Olive Chapel parents value the arts and I am always very grateful for your support.

I have lots of exciting art projects lined up for your little Possums this year.  Please know that I follow the Wake County Visual Arts’ Curriculum.  I also work closely with each grade level to incorporate literature, social studies, science and math into your child’s art curriculum.

Please email me at mmarshallsea@wcpss.net if you are interested in volunteering in the art room.  I am always in need of volunteers.  Please know that you do not need any artistic talent.  I am always in need of cutting/pasting/restocking supplies/ labeling, etc.  I look forward to hearing from you!  Your help and support is invaluable in the art room.  Without you, I would not be able to do what I do.

Please remember to send your children on art days in casual wear, not their Sunday best! I cannot store smocks or aprons in the art room.  Most of the materials used in the art room are water-based; however, on the occasion, materials may not come out of the fabric.  Should you have a problem, I recommend, “Pink liquid soap,” which can be purchased at Michaels or A.C. Moore.

Please know that I could use any of the following:-

*Clorox Wipes/anti bacterial wipes

Kleenex,

Paper plates (not plastic coated)

Doilies

Gold spray paint

Paper towels

Anti bacterial soap

Glitter

Feathers

Glitter glue

Ribbons

Buttons

Scrap paper

Felt

Aluminum foil

Zip lock bags (small and large)

Glad Wrap

Styrofoam meat trays

Styrofoam egg cartons (not cardboard)

Large milk containers

*Duct tape

*Any art/craft item would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you again for all your support.  I look forward to making this a great year for your child in art!
